Lee Min Ho chosen as the most popular Korean among Arabs

For the 40th anniversary of the first Arabic broadcast in Korea, international station 'KBS World Radio' conducted a survey titled 'Arabs Perception of Korea,' where they surveyed 3,000 Arabs from 22 Arabic nations about K-culture, K-celebs, and their thoughts on life in Korea. 

In the said survey, under the category of 'The first person who comes to mind when you think Korean,' actor Lee Min Ho came out on top, taking 14.8% of the votes. In second place was Super Junior with 10.8%, third place was EXO with 9%, fourth wasPark Shin Hye with 5.1%. The finals spots were occupied in a tie between United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki Moon and South Korean president Park Geun Hye, with 2.6% of the respective votes each. 

On these results, pop culture critic Kim Yoon Ha said, "There is a strong belief that Lee Min Ho is a gentleman who doesn't ride the popularity wave and the strength of his drama characters serves as an unconditional basis to his wide appeal."

In addition, 95% of the surveyed stated that their image of Korea improved thanks to Hallyu or Korean Culture Contents.

Lee Min Ho recently greeted fans with his handsome visuals during his fan meeting in Gangnam, Seoul.   Lee Min Ho held his fan meeting at M-Cube on the 3rd floor of CGV Cheongdam Cine City in Gangnam, Seoul on July 8. Lucky fans were invited to the fan meeting through a 'Twosome Place' Facebook event. The actor showed up with the music and outfit that fans selected and showed off his bartending skills with his ice mint americano.   Lee Min Ho also shared, "Among the female co-stars who I acted with, the partner who I was able to film the most comfortably and have fun with is Kim Hee Sun."   He then performed a bit of his song "Say Yes" and touched fans' hearts with his appreciation for them, sharing, "Fans are the reason for my existence as an actor... Lee Min Ho expresses his sadness with the passing of a long-time fan

Actor Lee Min Ho took to SNS to express his sadness at the loss of a long-time fan. 

He wrote on May 23, "I remember you.  I feel that I was unable to keep giving you hope until the very end, so I am sorry.  I will become an actor that can provide dreams, hope, and happiness to many more people as much as the love you've given me the last five years.  I hope you will always be happy where you are now."

A rep from his agency stated, "Lee Min Ho heard the sad news while working on his movie and uploaded that writing after thinking through complicated thoughts.  Lee Min Ho had many chances to closely communicate with his fans through events, fan signing, fan meetings, and more, but that was a fan who always came to every single one of those.  They were on close terms enough to greet each other and ask about their lives.  He even know that person was ill, so it was very painful for him when he heard the news."

Lee Min Ho says goodbye to fans in China before leaving for 'Gangnam Blues' filming

Sad news for fans in China!  Actor Lee Min Ho will be leaving the country very soon, but this leaves good news for fans in Korea!  He will be returning in order to engage in filming for upcoming movie 'Gangnam Blues.'

He said farewell to his fans in China on April 11 via Weibo: "Everybody, I'm returning to Korea soon.  I'm going to go to Korea and diligently take part in the movie filming.  As quickly as possible, I will come back to see everybody.  I will miss you.  Take care of your health."

He included a picture of him looking sad to depart as he gives a small pout and a sullen look at the camera.  

The movie 'Gangnam Blues' will start filming in the middle of this month!

Lee Min Ho poses for '@star1' and discusses his popularity as a Hallyu star

Lee Min Ho met up with star fashion magazine '@star1' and took part in a photo shoot and interview for its April issue. 

During the interview portion, he talked about his immense popularity in China.  He was asked, "You are very popular in China to the point people call you a god.  In your opinion, what's the secret to your popularity?"
He relied, "The strength of Korean dramas.  They sent me a lot of love to the characters in dramas 'Boys Over Flowers,' 'City Hunter,' and 'Heirs.'  I think it's the power of Korean dramas.  Also, I think I spread the name Lee Min Ho while often communicating with the fans on-site starting three years ago."
He also appeared as the very first Korean guest on the Chinese program 'Spring Festival Gala.'  In relation to that, he said, "It was a really new experience.  I felt very honored to be invited and take the position as a representative of Korea.  I was also really happy I got to sing 'Can't Help Falling In Love With You' ('Qing Fei De Yi') in Korean from their 'Boys Over Flowers' ('Meteor Garden')."

Lee Min Ho reveals he thought his now famous line from 'Heirs' had a typo

Actor Lee Min Ho revealed that he originally thought his now famous line from 'Heirs' ("Do I like you?") had a typo in it.

During his interview with @Star1 on March 20, Lee Min Ho was asked, "There was a lot of romantic acting and lines in 'Heirs'. Wasn't it very difficult or burdensome?"
He responded that it wasn't all his style, but he felt it was appropriate for his character, Kim Tan. "I don't think I could personally say them. The romantic lines and scenes would be difficult for me as an individual, but I acted thinking that because he's straightforward when it comes to love, Kim Tan could say those things confidently."

Lee Min Ho added, "As a guy, I think the way he doesn't hesitate is cool. Rather than being difficult or burdensome, I wanted to be more like [Kim Tan]." He also discussed his well-known line from the drama, "Do I like you?" "When I first read the script, it was very fresh. Even the staff wondered if it was a typo. It made me think that people could actually confess their feelings like this."

Lee Min Ho chosen the #1 Korean actor on Chinese website Kugou

Chinese fans have chosen Lee Min Ho as their favorite actor in a Korean drama.   Kugou.com ran a survey to figure out which Korean drama character viewers enjoyed the most. Lee Min Ho's character Kim Tan from 'Heirs' garnered 37% of the votes, placing him at the top of the line. A total of 1,355,150 fans voted, and Kim Tan won #1 with 510,764 votes. Lee Min Ho's popularity in China and abroad is definitely well-known. Lee Min Ho's label speaks up about reports of his gambling

Lee Min Ho's label spoke up about the actor's gambling controversy.   Earlier today, there were reports of the actor gambling in a casino while he was in New Zealand filming for an outdoor brand. However, MBN Star contacted his label, who said, "The report was too provocative. It's hard to see it as gambling." They explained, "The location is a small casino next to a restaurant that's more like a small arcade. It's a place anyone can enjoy a simple game as they eat. While he was resting during the photoshoot, he had a game that cost about the same as a drink. Even the townspeople game there holding their [grocery] baskets. It's a legally licensed place where only people 18 and older can enter."

Lee Min Ho's agency Starhaus Entertainment forms a strategic partnership with Chinese entertainment company

It has been revealed that Lee Min Ho's agency Starhaus Entertainment and Chinese entertainment company Huayi Brothers have formed a strategic partnership for the actor's promotions in China and more. A Starhaus Entertainment rep told TV Report, "Starhaus has been preparing a branch in China... Our relationship [with Huayi Brothers] has been good since Lee Min Ho's concert in 2009. Starhaus China and Huayi Brothers plan to have a friendly business cooperation with each other."   Huayi Brothers previously played a role in the opening of Lee Min Ho's concerts and fan meetings in Beijing and Shanghai since 2009 and will continue the good relationship they've established with a partnership.
This probably means that Lee Min Ho's Chinese fans have more to look forward to!

Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye deny Chinese report that they're dating

Both Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye denied reports that they were in a relationship.   On the 26th, Chinese media reported that the two 'Heirs' leads had been secretly dating for two months. However, the media presented no proof, just repeated that the two of them were dating. Both sides expressed that they were flustered with the report. Park Shin Hye's label told TV Report, "Of course it's not true. There's no basis to the story. We don't know why that article was published in China. We're taking measures through our Chinese agency." Lee Min Ho's label similarly told TV Report, "There was a rumor in the past, too. There's nothing confirmed in that article. The [Heirs] team are so close with each other, which is probably why these reports are happening."

Lee Min Ho will become the first Korean celebrity to appear on China's CCTV's 'Spring Festival Gala'

Lee Min Ho will be the first Korean celebrity to appear on CCTV's 'Spring Festival Gala'!   His label said, "Lee Min Ho will appear on the show and sing the 'Boys Over Flowers' theme song 'A Last Resort' in Korean. It's the first time a Korean is appearing on the show, as a singer or an actor.
It's also the first time that Korean is being broadcast on China's CCTV. CCTV's 'Spring Festival Gala' is the highest-rated show for the Spring Festival. Its airing in 2012 holds the Guinness record for the highest TV rating ever. Over 70% of China's viewers watch the show.

Lee Min Ho attracts 5,000 fans for his Seoul encore concert

Lee Min Ho attracted 5,000 fans who got to see the handsome actor in real life during his Seoul encore concert on the 18th!  Lee Min Ho held his encore concert, 'LEE MIN HO GLOBAL TOUR-MY EVERYTHING IN SEOUL ENCORE', with 5,000 fans in attendance at SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium on the 18th. 

Royal Pirates opened up the concert and once the fans called out Lee Min Ho's name, the actor entered the stage as he crooned "My Everything". As if he couldn't make them swoon anymore, Lee Min Ho also showcased his vocals with "Pieces of Love" and Kim Bum Soo's "Last Love". He also put on his sunglasses and joined special guests MonsterZ to get the crow wild with performances of "LOVE MOTION" and "My Little Princess".

When asked, "Is there a character which you liked during that time?" Lee Min Ho shared, "Playing the role of Goo Jun Pyo on 'Boys Over Flowers' was fun. Goo Jun Pyo was fun to the point that I wondered if there are really people like this."

"My character Choi Young in 'Faith' and Kim Tan in 'Heirs' are both similar manly men. If Choi Young is a person who is honest about his feelings, Kim Tan is innocent so he opens up his pure and innocent feelings... Yoon Sung in 'City Hunter' is also cool. Jun Jin Ho in 'Personal Taste' was a person very different from who I am... I can't choose between them."

"I think this concert was where I was closest to the audience. The thing I regret is that I wasn't able to approach each one of you." He then said goodbye to fans with encore songs, "Without You" and "Say Yes".

Lee Min Ho kicked off his global tour in Seoul back in May and attracted a total of 52,000 fans in eight cities across six countries including Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, China.

Lee Min Ho reveals which line was the most difficult to say on 'Heirs'

Actor Lee Min Ho met up with Aju News and revealed which line was the most difficult for him to say on SBS's 'Heirs'.

He said, "I personally like plays on words too... 'Do I like you?' is very original... The most difficult line was, 'Like me from now on. Sincerely, if that's possible.'"

Lee Min Ho added, "I received the script and that was the hardest. Strangely, it did not stick well." Still, it seems he managed to pull it off very nicely in the end, don't you think?

Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho is currently on break, but he will begin filming for new movie 'Gangnam Blues' in March, so you'll be able to see him again in a few months!

  Lee Min Ho has set a new record on Weibo! His label said, "Lee Min Ho had an interview through the Chinese SNS Weibo with his fans. He got 530,000 questions in one hour, setting the biggest record." His 530,000 is much higher than Jang Geun Suk's 430,000, or EXO-M's 410,000. He was incredibly kind and funny to every fan he could possibly answer to. When one fan asked, "My boyfriend is jealous because he says all I do is look at you", he answered, "That's okay. The Lee Min Ho syndrome is still going strong as all 5,000 tickets for his upcoming Seoul concert sold out within just two minutes!

Lee Min Ho will kick off the new year with the encore finale concert of his 2013 global tour 'My Everything' at the Olympic Handball Gymnasium, Seoul on January 18. It has also been revealed that his clothing charity auction held on the 18th attracted over 10,000 visitors in just one second, shutting down the servers and on the re-opened auction the very next day, it was completed in just 43 seconds.

His agency Starhaus Entertainment stated, "In response to the fans' repeated requests, we will hold an encore concert in addition to Lee Min Ho's concerts in Korea and Southeast Asia this summer."
