esta película).
My Sister's Keeper

Cancer is a disease that killing the lives of thousands of
people worldwide. This disease does not discriminate with race, sex, age and
nationality. Despite medical and technological advances, no cure has been
found. In 2016 more than one million new cases and over 500,000 fatalities was
estimated. A film that highlights this theme is My Sister Keeper, released for
2009. In this movie, a marriage has three children, Jessie, Kate and Anna. The
second daughter, Kate has cancer and the family struggles with the disease. Of
all the characters within the film I focused on the eldest son, Jessie. I
support his decision inside the movie, because for the actions, the attention
and invisibility to his family.
Jessie, the only male child, is not genetically
compatible with Kate, so they create Anna, a designer baby, to help extend
Kate's life. Jessie grows up loving Kate, is very loving to her and does
everything she asks, even keeping her secrets. However, he let his feelings
emerge and betrays his sister's intentions at court demanding her little
sister, Anna, to tell the true intentions behind that circumstance; the reality
is Kate wants die. The union shown by the brothers is great. You can appreciate
the brotherhood they lead, and how to somehow help in the life of that loved
one who is living that difficult moment and not being selfish with oneself.
This is the case of the character Jessie, who knowing that her family was
wearing off the weight of the disease and that practically their lives revolved
around Kate agrees to help her sister to make her wish; let her die. What would
you do for your brothers and more when has terminal illness?
Ironically the character release his impotence
of not having attention from his family, so is spent hanging around late in the
streets and coming home at night. Implying he is in a bad way. It's a wake-up
call to say: Hey, I'm here. The situation also affects me! People do these
things to see if the other person actually gives them the attention they want.
All human beings are affected and vulnerable to the events of a terminal
illness. Jessie is a young man, but also a human being who needs her family and
his parents more. He suffers, needs, but his sister monopolizes everything.
In the other hand the pressure
Jessie had was too much for her age, a quiet teenager boy, who did not seem to
have friends. It gives the impression of being incomplete, of being isolated
from the interests of life, living in complete invisibility. The same is
reflected in the character when he does not come out so much in the plot,
demonstrating how little importance we have of Jessie in the role. However, it
is serious when a person feels empty because he thinks that his parents do not
care. This can lead to self-destruction, depression and suicide. Pretend that
no one cares because you do not have the required attention. Most invisible child
makes bad things for attention.
In conclusion everyone needs the same
importance, since suffer is collective when a family member is ill, everyone in
the family is affected and suffering. We cannot remove the reality that
surrounds us and focus on an only person. So, I support Jessie's decisions by
reflecting on them, because at some critical times I have also made some strong
decisions for the love of my family. We all need attentions, but we need the
right ones. We cannot hide the love for the family. But at the end Kate got
what she wanted, be free and so everyone were also released.
